Botox is a neuromodulating injectable medication that temporarily relaxes muscle to soften overlying fine lines and wrinkles. Botox has been FDA approved for over 30 years and is extensively studied in medical research to ensure its safety when injected by a trained medical professional. Botox injections have minimal discomfort and no down time. Results should take full effect by day 14 and effects last an average of 3-5 months in duration.

Botox can be used to prevent wrinkles from forming in patients as young as their 20s. Commonly treated areas include forehead (frontalis muscle), “11s” or furrowing lines between brows (glabellar complex, procerus and corrugator muscles), crow’s feet (orbicularis oculi muscle), bunny lines (nasalis muscle), smoker’s lines around lips (orbicularis oris muscle.)
